Note: Version 3.04 of Timekeeper Demo fixes several minor bugs found in previous versions, and offers additional functionality.
-------------------------
Timekeeper is for anybody who charges for their time by the hour. It lets you keep track of projects you've worked on for different clients, and how much you're charging them for each activity you perform on a project. It offers extensive reporting, exporting and printing capabilities, to give you the flexibility to use the data you store on your projects in the ways that work best for you. Here are some of the useful features you'll find:
• Lets you track time down to the tenth- or quarter-hour (your choice)
• A virtually infinite number of clients, projects and activities are
accessible with a mouse click
• Lets you assign hourly rates to any activity
• Automatically sums your time and charges on every project
• Automatically creates summary reports by activity for any project
• Automatically creates daily time reports
• Lets you customize the data you record on each project
• Lets you export data on projects to database, spreadsheet or other
applications for incorporation into your own billing system
And there are many other features waiting for you to discover. This Timekeeper 3.04 demo offers nearly every feature available in the full working version, with the limitation that you can only track up to seven projects, and only for up to 20 days.
•What's Included•
Included in this Timekeeper Demo package are:
• Timekeeper Demo -- the Timekeeper HyperCard stack
• Daily Time Reports Demo -- the HyperCard stack for creating daily time reports
• Time Reports -- A FileMaker II file that lets you import project data for creating your
own invoices, or other purposes
• TK Demo Help -- a text file which duplicates the on-screen Help available
in Timekeeper (in case of problems printing the on-screen Help)
• Registration Form -- a text file you can print out and use to register your copy of
Timekeeper.
•Requirements•
Timekeeper 3.0 requires HyperCard 2.0 or higher. I recommend using it on a Macintosh with a 68020 or faster CPU, and at least 1000 Kbytes memory allocated to HyperCard.
•Important note to HyperCard Player users•
Timekeeper relies on certain functions within HyperCard versions 2.0 and higher, for some of its features to work properly. Some of these features are not present in HyperCard Player. The most notable missing feature limits Timekeeper's printing capabilities. If you need to print reports directly from Timekeeper, you should get a copy of HyperCard 2.0 or 2.1.
•Look before you leap!•
I know what it's like when you get a new piece of Macintosh software. You want to just pop the disk into your computer and try out your new toy. The last thing you want to do is read a manual. But if you're new to Timekeeper, you should definitely read the on-line help or "TK Demo Help" file in the Timekeeper Demo folder. I've tried to keep the descriptions as concise as possible without being meaningless. Reading on-line Help information will quickly take you through the steps involved in using Timekeeper. There are also certain customizing options you may want to select before beginning extensive use of Timekeeper. These options are explained in the section on the Timekeeper menu's Settings command.
If you have used Timekeeper in the past, you will find that this version offers some valuable new features. You should probably look at the on-line Help, or read the "TK Demo Help" file, to make sure you take advantage of all the new features.
If you are a registered user of an earlier Timekeeper version, you can upgrade to the full working version of Timekeeper 3.0 by sending $5.00 U.S. (to cover media, postage and handling) to Dennis Birch, 4907 Burke Avenue N., Seattle, WA 98103.
• This is shareware•
I encourage you to use this Timekeeper demo freely. I hope you'll share it with your friends, post it on bulletin boards and rave about it to anybody who uses a Macintosh (kind of cocky, aren't I?). But this demo is shareware. That means I'm letting you try it out so you can see if it's useful for you, before you send me any money. I hope you'll realize Timekeeper's value, and register for the full working version. You'll not only be rewarding me for helping you become more efficient, more organized and, hopefully, more profitable, you'll also be bringing powerfully good karma to yourself.
When you register, I'll send you a disk which includes the full, unlimited working version of Timekeeper 3.0, utility files and complete documentation (in Microsoft Word 5.1 format and as a text-only file). To register, send $30.00 U.S. funds to:
Dennis Birch
4907 Burke Ave. N.

USA
Note: The registration fee covers one copy for each computer on which you're using Timekeeper. If you want everyone in your office to have their own copy, please register for each user. As an incentive, I offer a discount for quantity orders. I may also be able to customize Timekeeper for specific needs, for a reasonable fee. For details on either option, write me at the above address or send e-mail via America Online to DSBirch.
Please feel free to distribute this shareware Timekeeper 3.0 demo via user groups, bulletin boards, on-line systems, etc., as long as you charge no money for it other than basic duplicating costs. If you do distribute it to others, please make sure that it is complete and includes all the components listed above in the "What's included" section. Thank you.
